Get out all of that constant idle chatter, And the electronic buzz, Calls that don’t matter, And what traffic noise does. Ignore the rain as it repetitively drums, And that plane overhead, The air conditioning hum, And scratching pencil lead. Put aside all the fingertips on keyboards, And electronic notifications, Breathing that is laboured, And all audible vibrations. Tone down that ringing in your ears, And the rattle in your head, The thoughts of peers, And skin as it is shed. Blank out air pressure on window panes, And atoms as they collide, And now what remains, Just the little voice inside.
