To the top (reading 2)

Makes me think that ...

I see them struggling to reach that place
And in their efforts they lose their face
They played the game and got their dues
But is it worth it to kill your Muse?

Climbing to the top is often not costless. 'Success' is all too often measured in rank and salary, and rarely weighed in the balance with others of life's rewards: love and relationships to mention just, for example.
