Standing

Makes me think that ...

Why are we here?
Why this room?
A murmur in the air, and
What - no chairs?

The leader appears.
She smiles in greeting,
Welcome to the stand-up meeting!

Let's say what needs to be done said,
She said.
Let's set our goals for the day.
Let's explain and inform.
Let's support and praise.
Let's go!

We stumble from the room,
We talk, we laugh.
We feel an urgency.
We feel an energy...
Let's - go!

'Meetings bloody meetings' is the title of a classic video featuring John Cleese. It caught the times because few of us like meetings, especially long ones. It's clear that Ron's leader is working on keeping short and probably sharp by keeping everyone on their feet. It seems to be working for Ron.
